Controversy Trails Iyabo Obasanjo's Open Letter As Former President's Aides And Family Insist It Was Forged...Vanguard Says It Stands By Its Story

Obasanjo-Iyabo
Multiply controversies have resulted from the acerbic letter former Senator and daughter of ex president Iyabo Obasanjo allegedly wrote to her dad in which she called him a liar, megalomaniac and Hypocrite.
Few hours after the letter went viral, the former President's aides along with other family sources claim that Ms Obasanjo denied writing the controversial letter. See Femi Fani-Kayode's tweets about the letter below:
However other credible sources are saying that Iyabo has not come out to deny the letter and has in fact remained mum. Premium Times reports that efforts to speak with her yesterday to confirm if she actually wrote the controversial letter were unsuccessful.
They say they repeatedly called Ms. Obasanjo-Bello’s mobile telephone, sent her multiple e-mails, text messages and left voicemails on her telephone, but she did not respond to any of them.
Her continued silence you will agree, has cast a shadow of doubt about the claim by her family and some of the former president’s spokespersons that she did not write the letter.
Also, it will be recalled that in the letter, purportedly written by Ms Obasanjo, she mentioned that she gave former Ogun state governor  Segun Osoba a lift while he was in the USA recently. In another report suggesting that Iyabo did write the letter in question, the former governor who is now a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is said to confirmed that he met Iyabo Obasanjo, the daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, during his trip to the United States in September 2013. He also  disclosed that Iyabo expressed exactly the same sentiments about her father contained in her letter. Please read the full report to on what the former governor said  HERE.
It is however penitent to note however, that Cheif Osoba belongs to APC, the opposition party.
On the hand, Vanguard has said it stands by its story.
In fact, in a recent report, Vanguard follows up by saying the Ms Obasanjo has opened up more on why she gave up on her father and wrote the letter. See the report below:
With echoes of the open letter to former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo from his daughter, Iyabo, reverberating nationwide, the daughter yesterday gave reasons she gave up on her father ever changing.
Senator Iyabo Obasanjo spoke against the background of mixed reactions from Yoruba elders and politicians on the import of the letter which she said was the last communication with her father.
-The former president himself was furious when approached by Vanguard, yesterday, as he hurled invectives at the newspaper. The exchange between Vanguard and the former president ran thus:
Vanguard: Sir, we tried reaching you all through yesterday, to no avail, over the letter written by your daughter, Iyabo, to you.
Chief Obasanjo: You are a bloody idiot, you have published the paper and you are now looking for me, you are an idiot, don’t call me again. When Iyabo finishes you in court…. (hangs up).
Senator Obasanjo nevertheless flayed the orchestrated attempt in the social media by a network of associates of her father to separate her from the letter. Details to follow...

With all the facts presented, it is now left for you to decide if Ms Obasanjo really wrote the letter pending the time that more details emerge or she releases an official statement. Mind you, and official denial does not in anyway prove that she didn't write the letter. As we all know, in Nigerian politics, 'things are not always what they seem.'
Of the other hand, lets assume she didn't write the letter like her father's aides and family claim. The million dollar question now is who did? And what do you think is their motive???
I have a feeling that the drama about to unfold may shock us beyond what we've seen already.
Like some of you have said, the whole 'letter' situation is like 'season films'....we'd have to to seat back, relax, and wait as the drama unfolds...culled
