Photo: Elderly Man Strips Naked To Evade Arrest In Lagos

There was a little bit of drama at Palmgrove Bus Stop, along Ikorodu road, yesterday when 5 commercial drivers picking up passengers by the road side got arrested by officials of LASTMA and some police menon duty. After asking the passengers to alight from the buses, some LASTMA officials took over the wheels and as they were about driving off to the station, one of the bus drivers, an elderly man, went into his bus and brought out a concoction with a fetid odour, faced the officials and police men and the on-looking crowd. The officials and police men who didn’t know what his mission was all ran for cover. But one of the LASTMA officials came back and insisted he must be arrested.

When the old man sensed that might not work for too long, he decided to strip himself naked. Just as he was doing that, the police and other LASTMA officials called on their colleague to leave him, because no one knew what his next action was.The man however evaded arrest, and other buses were taken to the station. He later got into his bus and drove off.

A Domestic Help Wahala!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

November 19, 2013

Most busy parents, especially those in chaotic cities like Lagos, rely on domestic workers to help them with their household chores and cater for their children.
Over the years, some parents have tagged domestic workers as ‘necessary evil,’ while others feel that employing them is tantamount to dinning with the devil.

A banker,Mrs. Yetunde Shonibare, recalled the nasty experience she had with a domestic worker she employed sometimes ago.
Shonibare said she left home at 6am for her office at Ogba and returned home around 8pm. Hence, she employed a house help to take care of her four-year-old son while she was at work. the relationship between her 18-year-old domestic help and her son soared within a short period of time until things went awry.

“My joy went sour the day I noticed my son playing with his penis.

I remember that day very well. My son was watching TV and at the same time fiddling with his penis. I had never seen him do that. I was shocked to my bones. I asked him some questions and then realised that it was my domestic worker that taught him. I suspected he had been sexually harassing my son. But when I confronted him, he denied it.Because I needed someone to take care of my son, I just couldn’t send the house help away without getting someone else. I decided to manage him but I became more sensitive. As time went on, I noticed that my son was becoming more fearful especially of my house help. It was as if my son’s personality changed. I became very worried,”

On getting back from work one day, i heard her my screaming. When i got into her house, i found him lying on the ground alone at home.I saw blood stains on his shirt, and marks on his back as if someone scratched him. I later discovered that my house help used a hanger to scratch my son’s back. I scolded him in the morning before I left home for something he did wrong. It was as if he vented his anger on my son.

Surprisingly, my son tried covering up for my house help, he told me that he fell at school, but when I called his teacher, she said it wasn’t true. When my house help eventually arrived, I confronted him with being responsible for the injury on my son’s back, but he denied the allegation. Till today, my son is yet to get over the trauma; he has become so reserved and fearful. I regret getting a house help.”

A medical doctor, Yemi Oladimeji, mother of a five-year-old girl also narrated how her house help would sexually abuse her daughter anytime she was away at work.
She said, “My daughter was a cheerful and jovial child. But I noticed that some months after I employed a 16-year-old boy as house help,  she became reserved. She cried excessively, especially when urinating. I didn’t know what was going on until the day I caught my house help having carnal knowledge of my daughter. I could not believe my eyes.

I left office early that day. When I got home, my house help was in his room and didn’t know I had returned from work. I quietly walked into his room. Just as I opened the door, I found him on top of my daughter; I almost screamed my lungs out. I broke down in tears, I didn’t even know what to do, I wasn’t angry at the boy but at myself. I felt I had failed as a mother. Beating the boy or sending him packing wouldn’t change the psychological trauma my daughter was going through all those months. I hate to recall that day.”

A Lagos-based businesswoman,Mrs Jane Diya, revealed that the nanny she employed starved her one-year-old son for months before her discovery.According to her, the nanny usually ate the large chunk of the food she left for her baby.Diya didn’t know what was happening until her son started growing skinny. She still blames herself for her son’s plight.
There have also been cases where domestic workers connived with kidnappers to abduct their bosses’ children while some have served as informants to robbers who robbed their bosses.

The Odegbaikes’ 10-month-old baby, Enioluwa Odegbaike,  went missing from their home while in the custody of a nanny they hired two weeks before.
The baby was believed to have been abducted by the nanny, identified as Victoria. Luckily for them, security agents secured the release of their baby.

Aside sexual abuse and kidnap, there are tales of nannies who have caused friction in marriages. A businesswoman, Mrs. Hannah Ozioma, said a nanny she hired almost broke her marriage.
She said, “I had just put to bed and needed assistance in the house. Luckily, I got a nanny from Benin Republic within some days. I thought she was a blessing until she began showing her true nature. All of a sudden, she decided that she was no longer going to eat my food and wanted to cook her food separately. She became rude and hostile. But I tried to endure her. Then, she began dressing seductively around the house. One morning, she came out of her room dressed in tights and a half top and my husband was in the sitting room. From her carriage, I knew she had a hidden agenda. I sacked her immediately.”

Psychologist,Dr. Princess Olufemi-kayode, urged parents to observe their children’s behaviours. She said any child who was being abused in any way would definitely exhibit some strange behaviours.
“When a child begins to show serious fright towards a particular person, then something is wrong. It may not be physical abuse, but most definitely, the child is being abused in some ways by such fellow. Also, when a child who used to excel in his academics begins to do badly, the child’s parents should have a one-on-one chat with him or her,” she explained
She also added that children who find it hard sleeping at night and those that exhibit inappropriate sexual behaviour may be experiencing some form of abuse.

“Eighty-five per cent of cases of abuse involving children are done by people we know. It’s important that parents employ adults to serve as house help and nannies, and this should be done through an agent so that they will be liable to somebody; it’s even criminal to employ children as nannies and house help.
“A house girl or boy who molests his employer’s child would have been molested too at some point in his or her life. And if your nanny does anything criminal, report to the police immediately,” she said.
Calling on the Federal Government to amend the Child Rights Act, Olufemi-Kayode advised parents to show more love towards their children. “Not showing enough love towards your children pre-exposes them to abuse,”

The founder of an agency which supplies domestic workers, also urged parents to have concrete information about their domestic workers before employment.
The founder, who chose to be anonymous, said, “One can’t really know the inner character of a person by mere looking at the person’s face. It’s important that parents carry out background checks on  domestic workers  they want to employ. A domestic worker who feels rejected in his family, and then gains employment in a home that showers children with love, may probably develop resentment towards his or her employer’s children.

“The only way parents can avoid any problem is to treat such domestic worker as a member of the family. Don’t push them aside or behave as if they aren’t humans. The fact that they are domestic workers doesn’t mean they are not humans. These are people that will be with your children all the time, so one needs to show them love. Do your best and leave the rest to God.”

The Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, also advised parents to conduct proper screening on any individual they plan to employ as a domestic worker.
“Go to the nearest police station to find out if the person you plan to employ has committed any criminal offence in the past. Also, ensure that the person has a proper and adequate guarantor. Don’t rely on the information given to you by the agent. Another important thing to do is to take that domestic worker to a hospital for a complete health test. They may have diseases which are hidden.”

She further advised parents of kidnapped children  not to communicate directly with the abductors out of fear and avoid paying ransom to them.

Peter Okoye And Lola Omotayo Wedding....Why Is The Okoye Family Not Happy He Married Her?

They have started a wicked rumour concerning this beautiful couple but whatever they say or think is too late, the deed has been done..Lola is Now Mrs Lola Okoye...deal with it abeg!...hisss
Read what is being insinuated, might be true, might not be...who cares?

''On Sunday, November 17, 2013, Lagos stood still for Psquare‘s Peter Okoye and fiancĂ©e Lola Omotayoas the couple held their traditional wedding ceremony, surprisingly elder brother Jude Okoye was missing.
Social network has been buzzing. The twins’ publicist Bayo Adetu told NIGERIAN ENTERTAINMENT TODAY Jude was missing at the wedding because he was stuck in Ghana. Psquare had performed in Accra,Ghana at the ‘Glo and Bounce Slide‘ tour the night before. Adetu says Jude missed his flight and couldn’t get back to Lagos in time for the nuptials.

But an anonymous source who was part of another artiste’s entourage to Ghana for the concert says Jude Okoye did NOT travel to Ghana. ‘We didn’t see him, the twins were here with their band but we didn’t see Jude‘,

There are few instances pointing to the fact that Jude did not travel with his Pop star twin brothers to Ghana for the concert: Jude, a regular user of photo sharing Instagram never fails to post photos of their trip outside Nigeria – there were no photos of him aboard the airplane heading to GH, photos of the twins performing at the concert.
One source asks: ‘If he was truly stuck in Ghana, wouldn’t he have even lamented on Twitter like D’banj?‘.
Instead Jude posted a photo of himself and Wizkid in the studio. The picture is believed to have been taken a night before at the Mavin Records studio where he had been working with Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Phyno and others.

Inside sources in the Okoye family reveal that Jude Okoye and a few other family members did not support their brother’s marriage to his baby mama Lola Omotayo. Some sources also also claim their late mother never supported the relationship too.

‘Jude and some others don’t like her. They never gave their blessing for the marriage.Paul too, but he is his twin. Other family members who were there were reluctant to attend. Jude didn’t go because he never supported the idea from day one‘, a family source reveals.

Some of the Okoye family members have even gone as far as insinuating that Lola Omotayo has allegedly constantly cheated on Peter Okoye. NET gathered there have been demands for a DNA test to really ascertain whether his children Cameron and Aliona are truly his. ‘It’s that serious, they claim Lola sleeps around with her so called ‘uncles’, they want a DNA test done, they just want to protect their brother‘.

Nigerian Entertainment today could not independently confirm these allegations, and Adetu insists there are no issues, that Jude was only MIA because he was stuck in Ghana. One of the couple’s friends also told NET all these are ‘wicked rumours’. ‘Wicked, false rumours. Nothing can be more false and distasteful. They should leave them alone and let them have peace…’

Lola currently lives in a mansion in Park View estate, Ikoyi. The Okoyes are currently building their new home somewhere not to far from there. It is uncertain where the couple will make their home.

Jude Okoye has been working with Psquare, his younger brothers since they released their first album ‘Last Nite‘ under Timbuk2 Music label back in 2003''.

A new underwater hotel room has opened off the coast of Tanzania for intrepid, adventurous and ocean-loving travelers.
Set off Pemba Island, also known as ‘the Green Island’ in Arabic, guests of The Manta Resort's underwater room are dropped off at a self-contained hotel which literally drifts at sea.
Guests can sunbathe on the top deck of their private island accommodations by day and dine on a lounge deck at water level. By night, they'll then dive into the sea to access their hotel room, where they nod off amongst the fishes and their marine surroundings.
For an ethereal effect, the suite, which is built four meters below the surface, is lit by underwater spotlights to provide a backlit projection of the Indian Ocean’s tropical sanctuary.
Part of the experience also lies in its isolation and underdevelopment as a tourist destination. The most reliable way to access Pemba Island is by chartered flights from Zanzibar. And while interest in the region is growing amongst divers for its unspoiled reefs, the area has yet to be paved by large-scale resorts and tourist crowds.
The suite is designed by Swedish outfit Genberg Underwater Hotels, which opened its first underwater property in a Swedish lake near Stockholm in 2000. The Utter Inn is a single room that lies three meters below the surface and contains twin beds and a table.
Meanwhile, the Manta Resort is the latest underwater guest experience to shake up the hotel industry. While the conventional trend has been to look skyward and snag bragging rights to building the tallest hotel or the highest penthouse, other hoteliers have been looking the other way, designing properties that maximize the beauty of tropical underwater environments.
Perhaps one of the best existing examples is the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island hotel, which consistently makes it onto travel bucket lists and most exclusive lists.
Set five meters below the surface, the fine dining restaurant features 180-degree views of the coral gardens.
Polish developers have also revealed plans to build an ambitious, futuristic-looking luxury hotel in the Maldives that will be built partially underwater. Reminiscent of the Star Trek Enterprise, the spaceship-like property will be built seven meters above water on five pillars, while the lower deck will be built up to 30 meters below the surface.
Room rates at The Manta Resort start at $750 per person a night.

A traffic tragedy in which three school pupils were killed in an auto-accident early today on the Lekki-Epe Expreswway, in Lagos, western Nigeria, has created an unprecedented traffic gridlock on the usually busy highway.

A traffic gridlock stretching over 10 kilometres has built up on the road, on the way to Epe, trapping thousands of motorists going to work. A similar gridlock is also on the other side.
Efforts by the police to clear the road has been fiercely resisted by the hoodlums and protesters. Police shot into the air to scare away the protesters, all in vain. There were even shooting exchanges between the hoodlums and the police. An unconfirmed report said one of the protesters was shot dead by the police exacerbating the anger of the community.
P.M.NEWs reporter trapped in the gridlock said the protesters also resisted the attempt by the police to evacuate the killed pupils and the vehicles involved in the accident.
The traffic lockdown which began at about 8 a.m this morning was still on at 10.30 am, at the time of this report.

Jimoh Ibrahim Arrested Over N6.8 billion Tax Fraud

The Special Enforcement  Unit of Federal Inland Revenue Service has arrested shady businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, over a tax fraud that runs into N6.8 billion.
Sources within the unit revealed that Mr. Ibrahim was picked up today and is currently under detention at the offices of the agency.
One source says“We are investigating a case where Chief Ibrahim, defrauded the federal government to the tune of N6.8 billion. He is in our custody, we take intend to take a statement from the suspect under caution”,

Another source says that Mr. Ibrahim had been evading agents of the unit for some time but disclosed that they eventually caught up with him in his hotel room in NICON Luxury Hotel where he was arrested this afternoon in Abuja.

Mr. Ibrahim emerged into national prominence under former President Olusegun  Obasanjo, where he was frequently described as an insurance magnate after a questionable sale of the state owned NICON insurance company to Mr. Ibrahim.

He subsequently became a player in the media industry through the controversial purchase of Newswatch magazine and also as a proprietor of Air Nigeria. An airline closed down last year due to safety concerns and Ibrahim’s inability to meet financial obligations to staff, lessors and maintenance engineers and aircraft parts suppliers.

After Mr. Ibrahim’s purchase of Newswatch, the original directors, including Ray Ekpu, accused Mr. Ibrahim of hijacking Newswatch without meeting the terms of acquisition as a majority stakeholder.

His troubles in aviation sector came to light when one of his top level employee, John Nnorom turned into a whistleblower and disclosed to  Saharareporters of the airline’s extensive violation of maintenance standards and financial fraud.

Also, Aersale an aircraft lease company sued him in New York court seeking a huge payment representing Air Nigeria unpaid obligations under the term of the lease.

Mr.Ibrahim is known to have extensive political connection with former President Obasanjo as well top members of the Goodluck Jonathan regime.
