London Tube drivers' strike over pay

Tube strike shuts entire network as London commuters endure misery

Some 250 extra buses have been put on to cope with the disruption - while taxis, the London Overground and National Rail services are in high demand.
Many passengers are organising alternative transport to get to work after the London Underground network ground to a halt at 6.30pm last night. Once again, as was the case during the last 24-hour walkout from July 8 to 9, Uber drivers increased the price of their fares to cash in on the chaos. Pictured: Hundreds of people in Stratford, east London, try their best to get on a bus at 6.30am this morning as police attempt to control the crowds.
