Ruthless Traveller gang using kids as young as seven to rob houses in the South East

A ruthless gang with links to killers is pocketing millions in a slick burglary operation, we can reveal.
The Travellers, based in Tallaght, West Dublin, are using children as young as seven to rob from homes and businesses in the South East.
A security source said: “It’s all well and good catching a few guys in the act but what the gardai want to do is catch the ringleaders, the men who give the orders for the robberies.
“But it’s very rare these men would go on some of the robbing trips.

“So the gardai are just waiting for these guys to slip up and then they can build a case around that.”
At least four times a year the gang sets off in a convoy, each heading to different locations, where they steal from premises which have been earmarked earlier.
Children are used as decoys or look-outs – or to sneak through small windows, giving their parents access to the property.
The career thieves travel in a loop, hitting areas in Wicklow and Wexford before making their way back to Tallaght.
The gang is also linked to the prime suspects in the murder of Willie Maughan and Anna Varslavane in April.
They had an agreement with the murderous group that they could continue with their criminal enterprise if the killers got a piece of their profits.
Slain Traveller gang leader Fat Andy Connors would also have received money from them before his murder last year.
