A total of 200 jobs will be created at telecoms company Vodafone as part of a €60m investment in a new European sales hub in Ireland.
The centre, located in Carrickmines in Dublin, will provide 'specialist sales capability' to support business customers in Ireland, the Netherlands, and the UK.
The company said Ireland was chosen as a location for the new facility - dubbed 'Vodafone Red Edge' - because of the number of highly skilled graduates in the country.
The announcement this morning brings the number of Vodafone direct and indirect employees to approximately 2,000.
Carrickmines will be the principal European location, with two additional support hubs located in central and southern Europe.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny said this significant investment in the new sales nub was a major "vote of confidence in Ireland's economy."
"The Government is working hard to rebuild a sustainable enterprise led economy, which is a prerequisite to full employment," he sid.
"Today's new jobs highlight our attractiveness as a location where companies have access to a talented and highly skilled work force.
"The jobs-led recovery is founded on economic and political stability, and we are determined to maintain this progress into the future."
The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
Anne O'Leary, CEO of Vodafone Ireland, said the investment demonstrates the company's long-term commitment to Ireland.
The centre will bring the latest in innovation including advanced sales tools and data analytics to determine customer needs and attitudes, she added.
