The average Australian wedding now costs $65,000... but that amount will barely cover the cost of the groom's tuxedo at these lavish celebrations.
As a former wedding planner and now editor of Australian online weddings publisher Wedded Wonderland, Wendy El Khoury has witnessed some of the most extravagant nuptials in the world, from a Beirut reception for more than a thousand (left) and a three-day Lake Como celebration that ended in fireworks (top right), to a New York affair with 10 bridesmaids (centre).
