The drug addict fantasist who tricked his way into the NHS

Victorino Chua was drug addict and fantasist who tricked his way into the UK

For Victorino 'Vic' Chua (pictured left at his graduation and right with his wife Marianne), a nursing career in England was a ticket out of poverty.
Chua set his sights on working in Britain after learning of Tony Blair's plan - announced in 2000 - to recruit thousands of overseas nurses. But it now seems clear that he should never have been working for the NHS. An original transcript of his nursing qualifications suggest that his exam marks may have been tampered with. There are also strong suspicions that another individual may have sat some of his exams in Manila. Police in Manchester think the man who sat the exam, in the name of Chua, did not even look like the killer. Although he has a certificate (inset) from the notorious Galang nursing school - one of the worst in Manila - police are unsure whether he really did obtain the correct qualifications to have a career in nursing.
