The class where EVERY pupil speaks English as a second language
Between them, the 29 children in the Year 6 class, taught by Nasreen Begum at Greet Primary School in Sparkhill, Birmingham, speak nine different languages and dialects, including Urdu, Pashto, Hindko and Arabic. But despite the challenge of 94.3 per cent of the school's 859 pupils speaking an additional tongue the primary is rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted and has a waiting list in every year group.
