Britain's first £1MILLION council home

Britain's first £1MILLION council home: Tiny two-bedroom ex-local authority flat in London

The third-floor apartment, which was once owned by the borough of Kensington and Chelsea, was sold off to a developer for less than a third of the asking price two years ago and revamped.
It's hefty price tag of £1.15million has come as a surprise to some of the residents, many of whom are still local authority tenants, as the capital faces an affordable housing crisis. The estate agent's details describe the flat as 'a highly sought-after location which hosts an array of local amenities as well as upmarket shops, bars and restaurants'. The property was bought by Patrick Dougherty for £660,000 two years ago and has been revamped by his interior design firm and features a modern kitchen, two bedrooms, a spacious living and dining area.
