US Ambassador to South Korea is left with 80 stitches
The U.S. Ambassador to South Korea has been hospitalized after a razor-wielding man attacked him during a lecture. Korean media reports that someone yelled 'North and South Korea should be unified' before a bloodied Ambassador Mark Lippert was seen leaving the talk at the Sejong Center in Seoul.
His injuries are reportedly non-life threatening and he is in stable condition at a nearby hospital. YTN TV showed a picture of Lippert bleeding from his right cheek and wrist but said his injuries weren't seen as life threatening. His attacker, pictured inset, was apparently wrestled to the ground.
