Tragic runner, 27, collapsed and died one mile from the end of half marathon

Ben Smith, described as a 'healthy and active' 27-year-old, was just minutes from finishing the Wilmslow Half Marathon in Cheshire before he fell to the ground unresponsive. An air ambulance and scores of paramedics rushed to the scene, but Ben was pronounced dead on arrival at Wythenshawe Hospital.
