BAFTA 2015
He was the favourite to win Leading Actor at the 2015 EE British Academy Film Awards, but it was clearly still a shock for Eddie Redmayne, centre, when it was announced that he had received the prestigious gong last night.
The actor, pictured top left with Professor Stephen Hawking who Redmayne portrayed in The Theory Of Everything, couldn't hide his surprise and delight at beating out competition from the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch and Ralph Fiennes to nab the award. The British actor thanked his family, his acting family and the family of Stephen Hawking for 'reminding me of the great strength that comes to living a full and passionate life'. The 33-year-old looked every inch the leading man alongside co-star Felicity Jones, pictured bottom left, who played Hawking's first wife in the film. Julianne Moore, pictured right, scooped up the award for best actress.
