A married woman, Sophie Lazell had narrated a chilly tale of her ordeal in the hands of her boyfriend, Daniel Jones who stripped her naked and tied her to a tree with her pyjamas because she refused to spend the night with him.
The 26-year-old victim disclosed that she had spent the whole day with Jones but decided she would not spend the night with him before she left for her house where she lived with her mum and children.
Irked about her decision, Jones targeted Lazell and went to her apartment when she was about to doze off and kidnapped her.
The outraged Jones allegedly dragged her off the bed by the hair and drove her for miles to an abandoned quarry in Hampshire, United Kingdom.
At the scene, the boyfriend asked her to strip naked pointing out to her that ‘there’s already a hole dug for you’.
Terrified, Lazell immediately stripped herself and Jones tied her to a tree with her pyjamas and immediately drove off abandoning the young mother to the mercy of the cold weather.
Lazell escaped and hid in a bramble bush waiting for when the coast would be clear enough so she could find her way back home.
According to
Metro UK, the woman later ran naked through fields for about one hour before she discovered a house occupied by an elderly couple who later helped her call 999.
She sustained some cuts and bruises in the encounter which
Lazell had finally decided to speak up two years after the incident took place, precisely in December 2013 in order to encourage women in abusive relationships to quit and save themselves the stress of being assaulted.
She said, ‘He demanded I take my trousers off.
‘He then led me to a tree, wrapped my arms around it, and tied them up with my pyjama bottoms.
‘He said, “that’s what happens to whores”, and then forced me to strip completely.’
‘I was terrified,’ she said. ‘I could only see horses. There were no lights on or houses. I ran for my life.
‘I must have been running for an hour, when I spotted a house.’
‘I learnt the hard way that you shouldn’t brush things under the carpet.
‘Please, get out, before things turn ugly,’ Lazell added.
Jones was later arrested and given a sentence of 20 months jail term plus a five-year restraining order, although Lazell said she’d ‘hoped he’d get longer’.
