Two hostage situations across France have today ended in dramatic fashion after police used flashbangs to storm the two sites and leave three terrorists dead.
North of Paris, Cherif (inset top left) and Said Kouachi (inset bottom left) were killed when they attempted to fight their way out of the industrial estate they were holed up 25 miles from Paris (main picture left). The pair had taken one hostage, who survived the ordeal, and were responsible for Wednesday's massacre at the Charlie Hebdo offices which left 12 dead. Moments later, Amedy Coulibaly (inset right) was reportedly killed after police stormed a kosher grocery store (main picture, right) in eastern France where he held at least six people hostage. The two hostage situations appeared to be linked - Coulibaly had claimed he would kill his hostages should police attempt to storm his fellow terrorists operating further north.
