Mai Liang, a woman from Hefei in the Anhui Province in China, made quite the discovery while eating a squid and fish dinner in a restaurant in the area. What she thought was just a particularly rubbery piece of food was actually a rolled-up condom.
According to the Sunday World, one of Liang's friends become violently ill at the scene before they called a manager.
Even more horrifying, the manager promptly swallowed the evidence immediately after the condom was found. The customers apparently threatened her that if she ate the condom, they would leave the matter alone.
"It was disgusting. My first horrific thought was: Is it used?", said Liang. "Imagine my horror when I turned it over with my fork and it turned out to be a contraceptive."
The case is currently being investigated by health officials.
