Sharp-eyed gardaÍ at Ballyfermot Station in Dublin racked up an easy arrest on Wednesday morning, after a man with several outstanding warrants showed up to fix their heating.
The 21-year-old repair-man, who was sent by a contracting company, was recognised by an officer before he’d even started work — as he sat in his car outside the station.
“He looked familiar, so the gardaí on duty checked him out, and it turned out he had a number of warrants outstanding,” a source said.
Adding insult to injury, officers also found a bag of cannabis in the man’s car, after carrying out a quick search.
He was arrested on the spot, in the back yard of the station.
“On the 6 November 2014 Gardai from Ballyfermot arrested a male 21 yrs on foot of a bench warrant he was conveyed to court,” a Garda spokesperson confirmed, in a statement.
The man was remanded on bail to appear again at the Criminal Courts of Justice on 27 November.
