US doctor shot wife dead and then himself in bitter pre-nup dispute on their wedding day
Three minutes after the last guest left the wedding party of Kelly Ecker and Indiana doctor George 'Scott' Samson, pictured left, in the small hours of Sunday, Ecker, made the first of three terrified 911 calls claiming her husband was going to kill her.
Two frantic calls to the dispatcher ended abruptly, but moments later Ecker, 50, phoned back, her trembling voice pleading for help, before a volley of gunshots rang out and the phone line cut to static. Less than half an hour later, officers who responded to Samson's Terre Haute mansion, pictured bottom right, discovered the body of Ecker, fatally shot in the head and neck and in the basement the body of Samson, who had taken his own life with his 45-caliber semi-automatic pistol. The two had been married only hours before after a service on Saturday evening and the marquee tent erected in the grounds of Samson's home, pictured top right, for the wedding party was still standing the morning after.
