Pariahsville! Inside the tiny U.S. town where 200 convicted sex offenders and their relatives live

Miracle Village

Like an island in the middle of the sugarcane country of south Florida, Miracle Village (main) is a small religious colony of bungalow-style houses for people who were found guilty, and have usually served a prison sentence, for a sex crime.
Miles from the nearest town, the village was established in 2009 by the late evangelical pastor Dick Witherow as a place where sex offenders can live - alone or with their families - without judgement and repent their sins. Brooklyn-based photographer Noah Rabinowitz spent three days there studying the people and place, which he described as 'deeply religious, tight knit and strictly self-governed'. The parish (insets) offers classes on sexual purity and anger management.
