The moment captain abandoned South Korean ferry - leaving behind hundreds to drown - as he's arrested by police

Escape: Lee Joon-seok is circled escaping the ship

Lee Joon-seok, 68, (circled centre) was pictured dangling from a rope as rescuers carried him to safety.
Around 270 of his passengers are still missing - and 28 are dead - in the wake of the disaster. The ferry he was captaining was carrying 475 people in South Korea when it capsized after a sharp turn. A warrant was issued for his arrest (right) by a Korean court today. It has since been alleged that he was not even at the helm of the ship during the fatal accident - and that his third-in-command was steering. Searches continue (top right) for the victims of the tragedy.
