SHOPPERS looked on in terror when a teenage girl viciously attacked a shop worker on Moore Street and kicked her unconscious on the cobbles.

The incident happened on Wednesday after a group of teen females went into a hair-extensions shop on the historic trading street.
Witnesses said a row started in the shop just before 5pm between the group of up to six girls and the two Chinese staff members.
Traders said they were “disgusted and appalled” at the sequence of events that followed.
“There was a commotion in the shop and the next thing we see a blonde girl running out and one of the Chinese ladies was chasing her,” a street trader told the Herald.
“The second girl had been cut badly under the eye in the shop and I think her assistant was trying to catch one of the teens.
“But the blonde girl then turned and knocked the Chinese girl to the ground and started laying the kicks into her, she kicked her in the head and everything,” the witness said.
“It was brutal and disgusting, absolutely appalling.
“A crowd had gathered by this stage and there was three Chinese lads who were holding onto the blonde girl until the gardai arrived. The girl and her friends were roaring abuse. The language out of them was shocking, I couldn't repeat it,” said the trader.
handcuffed
“Meanwhile the girl who was kicked had been carried back into the shop and was collapsed on the ground. She was a terrible grey colour and everyone was worried about her,” they added.
“A fire brigade came, and then an ambulance, and both the shop workers were taken away to hospital,” said another witness.
“When the gardai came they went to the three Chinese lads who were holding the blonde girl and said they would take her, but as soon as they let her |go she hit one of the men and tried |to push over one of the gardai. |That's when she was overpowered and handcuffed. I've never seen anything like it.
“Some people passing by afterwards were saying it was awful that the guards had a young girl handcuffed and restrained on the street, but she was acting like an absolute animal, the gardai had no choice,” she said.
The victim who was kicked unconscious was hospitalised but was discharged yesterday.
altercation
Gardai confirmed that a 15-year-old girl had been arrested after an altercation on Moore Street.
She was taken to Store Street garda station and later released without.
A file on the matter is being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
