Beth Thorpe, 18, left, was thrown out of her seat on the ‘Rocker’ ride, bottom right, and hurled towards the ground – landing on her head - at a temporary fair on Worthing seafront, West Sussex. Horrified witnesses feared the student had died after seeing her plummet to the ground.
Police and paramedics treated her at the scene, top right, before taking her to Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. Remarkably, she survived the terrifying incident - but she has no recollection of the ordeal.
